Siddhartha School Full Scholarship

Many of the families whose childern attend the Siddhartha School have very limited resources. They cannot afford books, uniforms, or other supplies needed by their children. While the school accepts all local students, regardless of their families finances, our sponsorship program provides an opportunity for a more personal connection with a needy student and family in Ladakh.

Donating a full scholarship for a Siddhartha School student insures that all aspects of providing for a child's education are covered, both today and for future years. In addition to providing basic tuition and books, a full scholarship insures that we can also provide uniforms and additional services like health care for these children. Full sponsorship provides not only a child's tuition, but insures that the school grows as the child grows. It helps us be able to offer salaries that will attract the best quality teachers and maintain and expand the infrastructure of the school. The $360 yearly cost to sponsor a student goes a long way toward improving the lives of these students and their families. Donations are tax deductable and can be made on an annual, semi-annual, or quarterly basis.

Khen Rinpoche Tsetan Scholarship Fund

In 2007 the first class of 10 students finished their course of studies at the Siddhartha School which provides education through 10th grade. All passed their national exam in the spring of 2008. One student did so with distinction. This was in competition with students in all of India and is a great honor. Three other students passed in the first rank - an above average category. In order to continue their education through 11th and 12th grade and afterward to college, students must leave Ladakh and attend a school in Delhi, Jemmu, Chandigar or some other major city. Few families have the resources to be able to afford the $1500 to $3000 per year needed for this additional schooling. In response to this need, the Siddhartha School Project has initiated a scholarship program for students who have the academic skills to continue their education but whose families cannot afford to provide this opportunity. Donations to this scholarship fund will help our students realize their deep desire for continuing education.
